All other games still in progress

Lawn 5 Jackson is game up on Kirby having produced a superb contact finish to win game 1
He ran a 10% 4-Back approached penult from the east boundary ran rover from N of the peg and hit the peg from behind rover.
Jackson is just completing an equalising break in the second.
In the other game on this lawn Gibbons leads Skinley 1-0 he has broken down on a TP in the second 2-back and penult. Skinley has the first peel of a triple done.

The lawns are all now tricky except lawn 3 where McBride is playing Chapman the score being 1-1

The other game on the lawn is Death Evans which is about one hour old and James is playing a TP

Lawn 2 has a thriller with Mulliner playing Lowe which is game all after Stephen hit a last shot to save the second when game down. Robert Lowe has just stuck in five with his other clip on 4-back. Mulliner is in with his hoop 1 ball with the other clip on 3-back but with no break.

Kirby is about to take his lift shot with his hoop 2 ball. The shooting in this match to date has been very good.

On lawn 1 Davis has taken Bamford into a third. Davis has the first break and is on hoop 3.

Kirby has missed his lift

McBride is laying up something (4-back?) and peg against Chapman, last shot coming up for the Kiwi

Mulliner has a break and is at hoop 2.

The other game on lawn 2 is Michael Wright v Peter Landrebe which is game all

Death seems to have stuck in rover at the end of his TP

Gibbons has missed the lift against Skinley who laid up penult and peg but has now failed penult off partner

Davis has broken down at hoop 4 against Bamford

It looks like Chapman has hit his last shot but has not got going and is laid up with partner.

I cant get a vantage point for lawn 4 but both games have just started patel has had the first break against Fleming and Clarke Johnston is at an even earlier stage.

THere is some confusion with the score on lawn 1 but I think Lines Bryant is still in the second with Lines one up but time must be very short

Mulliner has a good 4-ball break with his other ball for 3-back, don't think he will be looking at any peels

Gibbons is in with his penult ball against penult and peg a Rigall looks likely

On lawn 6 Jenny has just won game 2 against Ian Demurgue and they have taken a break.

Evans is making an NSL against Death who is rover and peg

So the only game I havent mentioned is Aiton v Garrison who are one all both with one ball round and Keith has the innings the game has gone a "a bit defensive"

Gibbons was hampered after penult and missed giving Skinley what should be an easy finish

Patel has just won the first against Fleming

Jackson has just failed hoop 2 off Kirby's 4-back ball. There is a ball at 4-back he may choose to make it.

Bamfod is still in the process of picking up a break

Death is taking a 23 yard lift with his ball for rover

Mulliner has brocken down at hoop 5.

Death has snicked the lift

Skinley has equalised

Chapman has just run 1-back with one peel done against 4-back(?) and peg

Death has won game 1

Kirby has laid up

Bamford now has a break at one-back - no sextuple leaves today!

Robert Lowe is at 2-back with a break with his other clip on 4-back. Mulliner is 5 and 3-back

Lowe has just misapproached 2-back - Stephen will have a good chance

Aiton has failed hoop 3 and Garrison has joined up. Keith is looking at running it

Chapman has over approached 3-back with a delayed double set up

Wright has just missed a retunr roquet after rover to be penult and peg against 1 and 2 giving away a good chance for the hoop 1 ball.

Leo has a 10 yarder with his 4-back ball with two balls by penult.

Leo has missed

Kirby has managed to get a standard TP

Death has hit 5th turn with his supershot ball to two balls on the East boundary with a ball in corner 4

Toby has got the innings back against Keith

Kirby has missed a 4 or 5 yarder at his escape ball after hoop 3
Jacksons hoop 2 ball is at hoop 4 and has a 9 yarder at the ball that missed
Which he has hit centre ball

Reg has laid up with a spread against 1 and 4

Death has picked up the first break

Jackson hasnt got a rush to hoop 2. He is going to have to cannon the ball out of hoop 3 to try and get a rush on it using his own peelee, a very big shot
He has played many big shots today
He has got a good rush but peelee has bounced to the side, Kirbys ball has been peeled

Davis is lining up his lift

Paddy has a striaght double to win with the peelee already in the jaws.

Davis has hit with his hoop 4 ball rushing it into corner 4

Paddy has a rush on peelee 3 yards from rover

Jackson is lining up the first peel of a standard TP he can only hope to jaws it as the escape ball is in the way.

It has sat an inch in front of the hoop

Paddy has a 2 hoot straight peel

foot

All balls in perfect position

Robert Lowe has a tricky approach to 2 back with a ball at 3 back and the other ball in corner 2

Paddy has the peel and finished nicely in the jaws

Keith is in with a sort of 3-ball break for hoop 4.

Jenny has the innings out of the opening, we believe this game has 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Robert Lowe has failed 2 ball off Mulliners hoop 5 ball

Paddy has finished to much applause but not as much as for Jacko's finish earlier. There are probably around 60 spectators.

Death had to wait for Paddy to finish and has immediately stuck in hoop 5

Fleming looks like he probaly has the first break against Patel in the 2nd

Gibbons is taking a 4th turn shot against a DL

Gibbons has missed

Shane is at 1-back on his break having hit the lift

Lines has won 2-0 20-19 in the second.

Landrebe has a bit of a dodgy 3-ball break for hoop 5

I think Evans has misapproached hoop 1 and gone to corner 4 James has re-establisehd his break.

Skinley has stuck in hoop 1 and Gibbons has missed by nothing

Which reminds me of Openshaw's last lit against Maugham when 1 and 4-back against 4-back and peg which hilled off the middle

Jacksons TP is not happening he hasnt got position for the rush peel

Rather lost track of Mulliner and Lowe. 5 and 4-back Mullliner is appraching 5 with balls near corner 2 and 1

Keith's break has reached 3-back

Landrebe also now has a proper break and has just run 1-back wity his other clip on 3 playing penult and peg

Landrebe has just missed a ball on the south boundary near 2 back, which should cost him the match

Wright has failed to get a rush on a ball 4 feet away so his finsish is in jeopardy now he needs to take off 20 yards to the penult "pioneer" near hoop 2

Evans has hit the lift against Death

Jenny has establisehd a 3-ball break

Reg has missed the lift

Skinley has made hoop 1 with two balls in corner 4

Wright had to lay up and Landrebe has hit from 25 yards (there are some Aussies in the crowd!)

Skinley has gone out on his croquet stroke from beside hoop 1

Landrebe is in with his hoop 3 ball not much on though

Mulliner has just missed after 1 back (he stuck in hoop 6 too)

Robert Lowe has croquet by Hoop 3 with his 2-back ball. Mulliners balls are on the N boundary in front of 1-back and 6 yards in front of hoop 2

Jacksons 4 ball break has reached 2-back

Davis has roleld up to hoop 1 from the S boundary getting a 4 foot hoop for a break

He has run it and got a forward rush with a ball at hoop 2 and the other ball on the E boundary level with 5

Davis has a break at hoop 3 peelee is at hoop 4 one more shot for Reg??

Garrison is in with a break against 4-back and peg no-one seems to know how

Evans has failed hoop2 rejecting to James backward ball at hoop 3

Shane looks like he is setting up for a delayed TP

Jackson is about to lay up 4-back and peg against 4 and penult

Opinion is divided over this delayed TP of Shanes and whether or not he should just play a 4-ball break he is at hoop 5 with the other balls at 4-back

Not many hoops being scored on lawn 2

Jenny has just run 3-back looks like an OSL for the leave

Davis has a forward rush out of 5

Mulliner is approaching 2-back from 3 yards off Lowe's 2-back ball

James has a standard TP for 2-0, on the only easy lawn

Shanes 4-back peel is just in the front of the jaws and he has made hoop 6

Mulliner has rushed from 2-back to 3-back for a break

He has missed a 4 yarder out of 3-back, he is not playing well.

Mulliner is joined up near 4-back with both his balls for that hoop Lowes 4-back ball is near hoop 2 and his 2 back ball is near 3-back

Clarke has just wandered past and desribed his first game as hardly out of the opening

Fulford has just applauded Shanes croquet stoke from 4-back (having rush peeled) putting out a 2-back pioneer getting a good rush to one back.

James has run 2-back with 2 peels done

Jackson has made a reverse OSL against Kirby

Shane has a rush on peelee back to penult after 2-back

It has gone to somewhere 3 yards and angled, may be jawsable

He has elected just to put it a foot in front

Kirby is lining up his last lift

\ Hits with his hoop 4 ball

Mulliner has run rover and is laying up 4-back and peg

Death has failed 4-back with a peel still to do

Kirby has played some good shots and immediately got a break a standard double to stay alive

Shane didnt have a go at the peel before 4-back, a straight double now

Lowe is taking his last(?????) shot against Mulliner (reverse diagonal spread with the peg ball lifted)

Keith is making rover on a finishing turn

Evans has a break establisehd for hoop 2

Kirby has stuck in 5 off the peg ball. Jackson who has hit everything has refused a 5 yarder for the game

Shane is lining up the striaght peel

The biggest shot of his life??

Fantastci shot peelee is one foot north an one yard west of rover

Aiton has won

Shane is putting out his deep ball with a poorish side ball

Good deep ball good rush on peelee
Its rolled on a bit 20" slightly angled
Now this is the biggest shot of his life
lining it up
here it comes
through and jawsed, can he get past the peelee?
yes
this is all over
thinking about a cannon
this can go wrong
played it perfectly
All over now
This might get more applause than Jackos finish
2 foot peg out
no it didnt, just shows how good the finish was
Kirby has missed a last shot
Jackson has a 3 yard approach with Kirby on the S boundary in front of 1 and his other ball beside hoop1

Wright has finished against Landrebe

Meanwhile back at Skinley Gibbons it is 1 and 3 gibbons plays 1 and 4 skinley who has the innings
Jacksons approach is poor

4 foot angled hoop is run no rush

I think Demurgue is just starting on an equalising break againist Jenny

Jackson has played great roll from behind 4-back going to Kirby's balls, should finish now
Lowe has a potential finish 2-back and rover against 4 back and peg Mulliner

Evans has failed hoop 4 on his first break

Jackson has rushed well to penult with a ball by the peg should be all over

I think it was robert Fulford who said Lowe had a finishing turn I think Lowe will be happy with a hoop!!

Jackson has made penult with a rush
Clarke is just starting a second break with Johnston on 2 and 3

Lowe has failed to appraoch 2-back with partner in the middle of the lawn

Jacson has to rush to rover from 5 yards with partner at the peg

Two foot backward take off looks easy enought though

Lowe has had to give up the innings

Jackson has made rover, he cant fail to finish

A short break to change the battery I will try and give a recap

Lawn 2 Mulliner 4 back and peg with the innings against Lowe 2back and rover

Death has just beaten Evans on lawn 3

Lawn 4 Patel is laying up 4back and peg against 3-back and 3-back???

Clarke is on a second non-peeling break against Johnston 2&3

Lawn 5 Gibbons has a break and is at hoop 2 with partner on 5 against Skinley 1 and 3 time is a factor
