Practice

Practice will be allowed during the Championship, under defined conditions. Before the start of play each day, a player may practice for up to 10 minutes on the court where they are about to play, using 2 balls. The practice must occur before the scheduled starting time. Any strokes are permitted, except:

In the case of a game that has been adjourned from the previous day, the same practice will be allowed.

Practice at other times of the day may be permitted. Players must make a specific request on each occasion to the Manager at the venue. Managers will have regard to any matches still in progress on adjacent courts, and those matches will have much higher priority than practice. Players will generally only be permitted to practise after they have finished their matches for the day. Note that practice means practice, and not casual games of any kind. If more players want to practice than the available courts can accommodate, Managers may limit the practice time allowed to each player.

Hoops

Hoops will be set before the start of the day’s play, and will be checked and re-set if necessary after the finish of each game. There will need to be some flexibility in this where courts are double-banked – a game in progress will not generally be interrupted to re-set hoops.
